We were only there one night. It was clean, and the breakfast staff was excellent, there was a large group that were not respectful of others and the staff were extremely patient with them. We have to be back in that area in a few weeks so we might stay there again, but we will pay more attention to the room we get.
I requested a higher floor, which I did not get we were on the 2 nd floor next to the elevator, and above the drive- in entrance, noisy. I should have asked if there had been dogs in the room before me, I am allergic. But I had medication. The bathroom had a very loud vent that was on all the time
Expectations were exceeded. The shuttle service was very helpful to get to the Metro.
The breakfast area can get overly crowded.
Room partly renovated, free parking.
Hotel is very very run down. Faucets in room so old all the chrome was gone. Most of this place has not been renovated sine 50s. Whopping $100 charge for dog.
The front desk clerk that checked us in was very bubbly and informative. We arrived approximately 20 mins before our time & a room was available. Breakfast was great also.
When we got to the room it wasn't exactly what we booked but it was ok for one night. The bathroom was really small, you had to close the door to use toilet. Bathtub/shower was really small and after showering the water drained really slow leaving standing water in the shower..nasty...there were also black stuff around the boarder or the tub that appeared to be pre treated returning mold.
The breakfast was great!
I feel as though I was mislead by the pictures. I know this was a 3 star hotel but I expected the appliances and bathroom to be upgraded. The appliances were old and the carpet was old. It was obvious this had been an apartment building...it had the Bates Motel feeling... I canceled my room at the marriott B.c I needed a microwave/fridge and I got it but I was not comfortable. Overall... It was okay but I will stick to 4 stars ...
This hotel is really amazing! It's clean, comfortable, organized and the rooms are equipped with very beautiful furniture. You can cook and work as at home. The only thing is that this hotel is a little far from downtown, but if you don't mind to get on a bus toward Kings street or Bradock Station it's a great place to stay. Besides, the hotel offers a free shuttle straightforward to Van Dorn Metro Station which helps a lot when you decide to go to airport by subway.
It was perfect to me.
Very large and clean suite for the money. Took the shuttle each morning to metro, and was picked up every evening within 10 minutes of call. Great affordable place to take family when traveling DC area. Buffet breakfast was very good.
The pool was a bit small and rooms could have been a little cooler in 100 degree weather
the room size, the variety of breakfast items
EVerything was wonderful and more than what we expected . I brought my grandchildren to see WAshington dc . The staff assisted me in making tour arrangements, assisted with the metro and was able to enhance our whole experience.. Recommend Hawthorne with top ratings!!!
We thought it was quite charming and a bit funcky!!!! The decor was fun-------It was also spacious and the kitchen was great. The beds were very comfortable, which we appreciated.
Proximity to the Metro Station with free Shuttle to the Metro was a huge plus. The daily breakfast and Monday thru Thursday dinner was a very nice and convenient addition to our stay. Very friendly staff and very comfortable accommodations.
Room was updated and very clean. Staff was very friendly. It was a very nice stay while at the Hotel.
The hotel provided a shuttle from the hotel to the nearest "metro" station this was an unexpexted convienance.
Room was nice
They didn't have room I paid for & had to bring in rollaway cots for my family which were so uncomfortable that my kids got in my bed and I slept on floor. Tried sleeping on roll away bed but mattress was so thin you could feel the bar right in your back. Also didnt have any heat in room. Staff said that the central heat had already been shut off for the year (it was 39 degrees outside). Wouldn't stay here again. Staff were nice about everything but said there was nothing they could do about the room or the heat.
Great professional staff with a friendly smile !!!!
Room was quite warm and the ac system did not seem to work. I opened the window to cool the room but at some point the road noise made that an issue. I did not bother to report it to the staff as it was not a significant problem.
